Job Description:
Solution Architect role is responsible for designing and recommending technology solutions that align with business needs and technical requirements.
Key Responsibility:
- Solution Design and Recommendation:
- Design technology solutions that meet business needs and technical requirements.
- Recommend solutions that align with the organization’s modernization goals.
- Requirement Evaluation:
- Evaluate business requirements to understand the technical needs of projects.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Enterprise Architecture Alignment:
- Ensure recommended solutions fit within the enterprise architecture framework.
- Maintain alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with stakeholders, project managers, developers, and other architects.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams to ensure a clear
understanding of project goals and solutions.
- Project Involvement:
- Participate in project planning and execution to ensure architectural integrity.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight during project implementation.
- Modernization Focus:
- Recommend modernization strategy for the WSDOT information technology environment projects.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends to recommend innovative solutions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Over 10 years as an IT Architect or similar role, familiar with TOGAF, Zachman, or FEAF frameworks.
- 8+ years working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- 6+ years using architectural modeling tools (e.g., ArchiMate, Sparx).
- Extensive knowledge of infrastructure, applications, and data management.
- Proficient in DevOps practices, Agile methodologies, and ERP systems.
- Skilled in microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Expertise in enterprise security, compliance, and data governance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Desirable:
- Certifications in TOGAF or Zachman.
- Experience with DevOps and Agile, and familiarity with ERP systems and containerization technologies.
Contract Type: Project Based
Duration: 3-6 months (based on project timeline)
Location: Remote (occasional travel as needed), Tumwater, WA
