We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst specializing in stakeholder engagement to assist the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in planning and facilitating a series of statewide meetings aimed at developing wildfire risk maps. This project will involve collaboration with various stakeholders, including the public, tribes, county planning commissions, and the Washington State Fire Marshal’s office, to establish statewide fire risk criteria and methodologies that will guide the development of base-level wildfire risk maps. These maps will be made publicly available on DNR’s website.

The ideal candidate will have a background in natural resource consulting, specifically in stakeholder engagement, and be skilled in organizing meetings, synthesizing input, and developing actionable reports. This position requires working closely with DNR’s Wildland Fire Management Division and other key groups to ensure the success of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and Schedule Stakeholder Meetings: Organize and schedule statewide meetings with diverse stakeholder groups, including tribes, local governments, and public entities.
  • Develop Meeting Agendas and Summaries: Prepare meeting agendas, facilitate discussions, and document key findings and action items in post-meeting summaries.
  • Engage with Stakeholders: Maintain communication with stakeholders between meetings to build relationships, address concerns, and ensure the inclusion of diverse perspectives.
  • Collaborate with Project Teams: Work closely with DNR’s project coordinating group and the collaborative steering committee to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Provide Final Reports: Synthesize meeting outcomes, recommendations, and findings into comprehensive reports, offering suggestions for next steps and statewide wildfire risk criteria.
  • Support Public Access: Facilitate public access to meeting materials, project updates, and relevant information to ensure transparency and community involvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Natural Resource consulting.
  • 5+ years of experience facilitating stakeholder meetings, working with steering committees, developing meeting agendas, and providing detailed reports and summaries.

Additional Information:

  • You will be responsible for facilitating at least 10 stakeholder meetings, plus additional meetings with the project coordinating group and steering committee as needed.
