Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Microsoft Access Database Specialist with at least 5 years of experience in maintaining, updating, and improving older Microsoft Access databases. This is a critical role that will directly support our sensitive database system, which has a significant impact on our functions and finances. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both database troubleshooting and development of new features and updates, ensuring the system continues to run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibility:
- Maintenance & Updates: Regularly maintaining and troubleshooting an older Microsoft Access database to keep it up-to-date and error-free.
- System Enhancements: Developing new features or improvements as needed, ensuring the database is functional and secure.
- Special Projects: Managing unique or complex projects that enhance database functionality, working with internal teams to define and implement changes.
- Collaboration with Finance Teams: If applicable, collaborating with teams familiar with Washington State’s financial system (AFRS) to ensure smooth integration of data and processes.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience specifically in designing, maintaining, and updating Microsoft Access databases.
- Proven track record of successful Microsoft Access projects, including any experience with AFRS or similar state financial systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset to address any database issues quickly and efficiently.
- A solid understanding of how sensitive information is handled in a database system and the ability to implement updates securely.
- Experience with working within a 24-48 hour response time for urgent issues or system maintenance.
Preffered:
- Experience with Washington State Financial System (AFRS), including uploading and processing payments, coding changes, and troubleshooting related issues.
- Ability to work within the Pacific Time Zone and be available during regular office hours (7:30 am – 4:00 pm PST), including potentially traveling to our office when needed.
Required Documents:
- Comprehensive resume detailing experience with Microsoft Access databases and AFRS (if applicable).
- Example projects or case studies demonstrating previous work with Access databases, including any emergency troubleshooting or customer service cases.
On-shore requirement: All work will be completed within the Pacific Standard Time (PST) zone.
Key Staff: Must be available to work directly on the Access database as part of our team.
